Pricing Methodology

PhonicSpecs displays phone prices by market so readers can see a price that belongs to the country they selected rather than a currency-converted estimate.

Supported markets

Our current primary pricing markets are the United States (USD), United Kingdom (GBP), Australia (AUD), United Arab Emirates (AED), Pakistan (PKR), and India (INR). Market coverage may expand over time.

No foreign-exchange conversion

We do not create a local phone price by converting a price from another country. If we cannot verify a price for the selected market, the site may show that pricing is unavailable for that market.

Current retail price and launch price

We distinguish between:

  • Current retail price: a currently listed or recently verified selling price from a manufacturer, authorized retailer, local retailer, or clearly identified import retailer.
  • Launch price / RRP: the announced price at launch. This may be retained as historical or reference information and should not automatically be treated as the current selling price.

Variant basis

Prices are tied to a storage and, where relevant, RAM variant. A phone may have several variants, so readers should check the listed storage, model, seller, and availability before purchasing.

Source priority

We generally prefer sources in this order:

  1. manufacturer store or official product page;
  2. manufacturer newsroom or official launch announcement;
  3. authorized retailer;
  4. established local retailer;
  5. clearly identified import or parallel-market retailer;
  6. reputable secondary reporting when a primary source is unavailable.

Market availability

A phone may be officially sold in one country but available only through import channels in another. We aim to label the sales channel honestly. We do not imply official distribution when a listing is an import-market offer.

Taxes, promotions, trade-ins, and financing

Displayed prices may not include every temporary coupon, trade-in credit, carrier subsidy, financing offer, delivery charge, tax, duty, or bundle. Retailers can change prices without notice. The retailer’s checkout page is the final authority for the amount you will pay.

Verification dates

Where our system stores a verification date, it indicates when a source or price was last checked. It is not a guarantee that the retailer has not changed the price afterward.

Affiliate links

A retailer link may be an affiliate link. This can earn PhonicSpecs a commission without increasing the price you pay. Affiliate relationships do not determine the price we record or the editorial score of a phone.
