Infinix Zero 40 4G Review: Excellent Cameras, but 5G Matters

The Infinix Zero 40 4G is easy to confuse with the much faster Zero 40 5G, but they are not the same phone. Pakistan received the Helio G100-based 4G model with a 120Hz curved AMOLED display, 108MP OIS main camera, 50MP ultrawide, 50MP selfie camera and 45W charging. That camera hardware is unusually ambitious for a 4G mid-ranger. The trade-off is that the performance and connectivity platform is far less future-proof than the design and imaging hardware suggest.

Design and display: premium-looking, with curved-screen trade-offs

The 6.78-inch curved AMOLED display runs at 120Hz and Full HD+ resolution, with Gorilla Glass 5 and IP54 splash protection. The curved panel and slim chassis make the phone look more expensive than many 4G rivals, and published reviews of the 4G model consistently note the attractive design.

Curved screens are also a preference issue. They can feel more immersive and premium, but some users prefer flat panels for easier screen protection, fewer accidental edge touches and lower replacement risk.

Performance: Helio G100 is fine for daily use, not the Zero 40 5G experience

The Helio G100 is a 6nm 4G chipset suited to normal mid-range work: social apps, browsing, video, navigation, productivity and moderate gaming. It should not be judged by Zero 40 5G benchmarks, because the 5G model uses a much faster platform.

This distinction is crucial when reading reviews online. Several Zero 40 reviews refer to the 5G model and its higher refresh rate, wireless charging and faster chipset. PhonicSpecs keeps those results separate. The 4G model is capable, but demanding gamers have better options.

Camera system: the strongest reason to buy

The 108MP main camera includes OIS, and the 50MP ultrawide gives the Zero 40 4G genuine focal-length flexibility rather than relying on decorative low-resolution sensors. The 50MP selfie camera is another unusually high-resolution component.

The hardware makes sense for buyers who shoot landscapes, group photos, social content and selfies. Published review collections of the 4G model praise the overall design and display but describe camera results more cautiously than the specification sheet might imply. Battery and charging

A 5000mAh battery and 45W wired charging are adequate for the category. Unlike the Zero 40 5G, the 4G model should not be assumed to have wireless charging. This is another place where variant confusion can produce incorrect buying advice.

In a used or discontinued-market purchase, battery condition matters heavily. Buyers should test heat, charging stability and real-world drain before deciding that the original 5000mAh specification still represents current capacity.

Software support and connectivity

The phone launched with Android 14 and XOS 14.5. Infinix communicated two major Android upgrades and three years of security support for the Zero 40 family, giving the model a clearer support story than some older Infinix phones.

The main limitation is still 4G-only connectivity. Pakistan’s LTE networks make the phone perfectly usable today, but buyers planning to keep a device for several years should compare it with newer 5G options.

Is Infinix Zero 40 4G worth buying now?

It is most compelling for buyers who prioritise camera versatility, a premium-looking curved AMOLED screen and generous storage over 5G and high-end gaming. At a discounted used or old-stock price, that combination can still be excellent.

It is less compelling when priced close to a current 5G phone. The Zero 40 4G looks and shoots like a more premium device than its network platform suggests, which is both its charm and its central compromise.
