Our verdict

The iPhone 14 Pro Max remains a very capable premium iPhone, especially for photography, video and battery life. Its 48MP main camera, 3x telephoto and ProMotion display still feel flagship-grade, but Lightning, the 240g weight and lack of Apple Intelligence make it much less future-facing than newer Pro Max models.

Buying advice

Buy the iPhone 14 Pro Max only at a meaningful discount. It remains a strong choice for buyers who want a large 120Hz iPhone with excellent cameras and long software life, but newer USB-C Pro Max models are worth paying more for if the price gap is small.
