Apple iPhone 16 Plus Review: Big Screen, Big Battery, Few Surprises 8.8/10 editorial

The iPhone 16 Plus delivers a large 6.7-inch OLED, excellent battery life, A18 performance and strong everyday cameras without Pro Max pricing, but the 60Hz display remains difficult to excuse.

Our verdict

The iPhone 16 Plus is an excellent big-screen iPhone for buyers who value battery life more than Pro features. Its A18 performance, cameras and MagSafe ecosystem are strong, but a 60Hz display on a premium-priced 6.7-inch phone remains the obvious compromise.

Buying advice

Choose the iPhone 16 Plus if you want a large iPhone with excellent endurance and do not need a telephoto lens or 120Hz ProMotion. Buyers sensitive to display smoothness should step up to a Pro model or consider Android rivals.
