PhonicSpecs Review

Apple iPhone SE (2022) Review: Fast Chip, Very Old Formula 7.2/10 editorial

The 2022 iPhone SE combines A15 performance and 5G with a tiny 4.7-inch LCD, Touch ID and a single rear camera. It is fast, but the old design and weak endurance are increasingly difficult to justify.

Our verdict

The iPhone SE (2022) is powerful for its size but feels fundamentally outdated. A15 Bionic and long software support are genuine strengths, yet the small 60Hz LCD, large bezels, single camera and mediocre battery life make it a niche choice in 2026.

Buying advice

Buy it only if you specifically want Touch ID, a very small iPhone and the lowest possible entry price into iOS. Most buyers will get a much better display, battery and camera experience from a newer standard iPhone or a modern Android mid-ranger.
