Overview

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra is Samsung’s highest-end book-style foldable, combining an 8.0-inch 120Hz folding display with a 6.5-inch cover screen. Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy powers the device, while a 200MP main camera gives it more serious photography hardware than earlier foldables. Its reinforced hinge, premium frame and IP48 protection focus on improving everyday durability, and the 5,000mAh battery supports 45W wired charging. The Fold8 Ultra is built for users who want tablet-like multitasking, a large internal workspace and flagship camera capability in one device, accepting the higher price and added complexity of a foldable design.

PhonicSpecs Review

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra Review: Foldable Ambition Goes Ultra 9.1/10 editorial

The Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra pushes Samsung’s foldable formula toward true Ultra territory with a lighter design, 200MP camera and larger battery, but at a very high price.

Our verdict

The Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra is Samsung’s most ambitious book-style foldable, combining an 8-inch inner display, flagship cameras, a 5,000mAh battery and a remarkably slim body. It is an excellent productivity device, but the high price and lack of S Pen support keep it from being an automatic upgrade for every Fold owner.

Buying advice

Buy the Z Fold8 Ultra if you want Samsung’s strongest foldable cameras, larger battery and premium multitasking experience in one device. Skip it if value matters more than absolute capability, or if S Pen input is essential to your foldable workflow.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra support the S Pen?

No. Samsung does not list S Pen support for the Z Fold8 Ultra, so stylus users should not assume compatibility from earlier Fold generations.

How good is the Z Fold8 Ultra camera system?

It uses a 200MP main camera, 50MP ultrawide and dedicated 3x telephoto, making it substantially more ambitious than many earlier foldables.

Is the Z Fold8 Ultra lighter than earlier Fold phones?

At around 215g, it is notably light for an 8-inch book-style foldable, especially considering its larger battery and camera hardware.
